From the moment you step into Calder House Hotel our aim is to treat you and your guests to a wedding day you will remember forever. Located on the stunning west coast of Cumbria, Calder House Hotel enjoys spectacular views from its beautifully appointed function rooms. We offer a high standard of facilities and service in perfect surroundings for weddings large and small.
Civil Ceremonies
Licensed for Civil weddings and Civil Partnerships, the Calder House Hotel provides the perfect venue for taking your wedding vows, together with a convenient and relaxing way to hold your marriage ceremony and reception. From small intimate gatherings to spectacular large celebrations, Calder House Hotel has two venues approved for civil ceremonies.
The Registry Office
Upon making a provisional booking for your chosen wedding day you will need to contact the Registrars Office in Whitehaven on 01946 852690 to ensure they have the date free to conduct your service. It is possible to book the registrar up to 12 months in advance and you are advised to contact the Registrar's Office as soon as possible. Their helpful staff will le you know the costs involved and the relevant paperwork needed to be completed before your marriage.
All-Inclusive Packages
to help you work out exactly what the costs will be, we have compiled a range of all-inclusive wedding packages. All prices quoted are inclusive of 17.5% VAT. we have created an interesting selection of menus to suit all budgets and we are always happy to tailor your own menu to suit your specific requirements. Please speak to our Events Coordinator.
Every wedding package includes:
Drinks
 On arrival, a glass of sherry, whiskey or bucks fizz.
A glass of house red or white wine to complement your meal.
A glass of sparkling wine with which to toast the happy couple.
Decorations
A floral spray for the top table and vase arrangements for each of the dining tables to match your chosen colour scheme.
Bridal suite
Complementary room for the Bride and Groom together with a bottle of sparking wine and full English breakfast.
Accommodation
Special rates are available for your wedding guests.
The Wedding Breakfast
Whatever the size of your wedding, our Events Coordinator will help you choose the perfect setting for your and your guests.
We also host wedding celebrations from an intimate, informal party to a spectacular banquet in our stunning seafront marquee.
You can rest assured that our high standard of food, excellent wines and service will ensure you have made the perfect choice for your special day.
 Accommodation
The Calder House Hotel has 16 rooms which include a selection of single, double, twin or family rooms.
All rooms enjoy en suite bath or shower facilities.

Booking
Once you have chosen the Calder House Hotel as your wedding venue a deposit of £200 is required to confirm your booking. When this has been paid your booking is definite.
Regrettably, in the event of a cancellation any deposit paid is non-refundable.
Payment Terms
In addition to the deposit, a further 80% of the estimated bill (less deposit) is payable 2 weeks prior to the celebration. The balance of the account must be paid within days of the event.
Children
Children between the ages of 3-10 will receive a 50% reduction of the adult cost. Children under 3 are free of charge.
Final numbers
Two days prior to the wedding celebrations we will require the total number of guests together with the table plan and place cards. These numbers will be considered as final for the account charges.
The Hotel is available for exclusive use.
